Thank you for your interest in commissioning me to take your portraits! It is always a huge honor when someone connects with my work enough to inquire with me. I am currently booking Nashville portrait sessions through early 2026, with a small amount of travel availability if you’ve got somewhere else in mind.

As a documentary photographer, I am most interested in genuinely getting to know you so that I can make portraits that feel true to who you are. I focus on presence, connection and observation as my primary skill set. Our time together will feel more like two old friends catching up than it will a photoshoot— I prefer not to give much direction or prompting to my clients, because I would really rather you just be yourself. I work best with clients who are willing to trust me, and who value this intuitive approach to documentation.

I’m thrilled you’re here. Below is some more detailed information about my current offerings and booking process. Once you’re ready to move forward (or if you have any questions), don’t hesitate to get in touch!

“Grey is deeply committed to providing such a personalized, intentional experience that captures the beauty of each person. She commits herself to knowing you as a whole person before she picks up the camera and that makes all the difference. Grey cares about the relational aspect of art and that is precisely why she is an outstanding photographer and human. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a photographer who brings out the best in you in every shot. We are so incredibly pleased with our wedding photographs and the relationship we have formed with Grey.”

Portrait Session Info & Rates

for commissions local to Nashville, Tennessee

WHERE

At your home, your favorite park, or around your neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee. Traveling on occasion.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Sessions are photographed on medium format film, 35mm film, and my digital camera. Film is developed by a local lab in Nashville and then scanned & color-converted by me at home.

All sessions include the digital files of your images delivered via online gallery and a personal print release.

RATES

*Local portrait session rates include a 45 mile travel radius outside of Nashville. Travel fees for locations outside of this radius are calculated on a case-by-case basis accounting for mileage and any other necessary travel expenses.

Full portrait sessions are typically about 2-3 hours long. I like to meet clients for coffee or a drink at the start of our time together so we can unwind and get to know each other a bit before I pull out my cameras. These longer sessions leave room for more than one location and also allow me to shoot on majority or all-film. These sessions are $900 USD.

Abbreviated sessions (about 45-60 minutes, one location) are $650 USD.

ADD ONS:

Vintage Polaroids

Add vintage Polaroids to your session, photographed on my restored 1975 Polaroid camera. Available in color or black & white.

$150 USD

Heirloom Portfolio Box

My favorite way to present photographs to clients— each one I make is different, tailored to each client. Matted fine art prints & a stack of handheld everyday prints of selected images from your session (artist’s cull), presented to you in an archival folio box.

$500 USD

How to Book

Once you let me know what session you’d like to book, we will work together to figure out a date and time. I require a 25% nonrefundable retainer to officially book your date, with the remainder due by your session.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  • A 25% nonrefundable deposit is due to officially book your session. This deposit goes toward your total session balance, which is due by the date of your session. Payment can be made via credit/debit, Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

  • Yes! Payment plans are available and can be customized to suit what works best for you, whether you would like to pay in one lump sum or a handful of smaller installments (no interest or added fees ever btw).

  • I calculate travel on a case-by-case basis, depending on the distance and scope of your session. Sometimes travel costs merely reflect transportation & mileage, whereas sometimes they include accommodations and lodging if a location is too far to be a day trip. Travel fees are included upfront as part of your photography collection total.

  • This is a great question! There are a lot of differences, both philosophically and technically. One of the most visible is that film color ranges and tonal depths remain unparalleled in quality, even with the modern digital technology we have today. I shoot with 35mm, 120 (aka medium format) and vintage Polaroid film. Each of these mediums has a different set of strengths and characteristics. Feel free to ask me more about this so we can have a more in-depth conversation about it!
